Paragraph 101 establishes that companies with registered office in Italy and companies with registered office abroad with a permanent establishment in Italy, required to register in the Company Register pursuant to art. 2188 cc, are obliged to stipulate, by 31 December 2024, insurance contracts to cover damage to property, pursuant to art. 2424, paragraph 1, Active section, item B-II, numbers 1), 2) and 3) of the Civil Code, directly caused by natural disasters and catastrophic events occurring on the national territory.
It is believed that rented or leased properties are not included in the assets, but we are waiting for the Implementation Decree to confirm this. the rationale would certainly be to include them.
With the Decree of the Minister of Economy and Finance and the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, further implementation and operational methods of the insurance schemes will be established, including the methods of identifying calamitous and catastrophic events susceptible to compensation.
